A blog isn't a blog without some randomness involved
It was the eve of Aug. 17th ’06. There was nothing going through my mind except for the thought of what was in store for me and my comrades the following day. My excitement grew and grew until my mom finally told me to get some good rest before I hurt someone. I obeyed her without a single complaint, for moms always know what is best for their child. As I laid there in bed I drifted off into those happy dreams of happy huntin' and killin' and when I woke up I knew the time had finally come. Me and my brothers cleaned up a little bit and got our guns ready. After that had been finished all we had to do was wait for the rest of the gang to come up to our residence. It took them awhile to get here but eventually they got here. I went out to greet them and to say all of my hellos. My bros came out too and did the same and we talked outside for awhile before my mother finally came out for the talk. You see mothers always know what they are saying so when she told us about safety and all I think everyone of us listened to every word. After that was finished it was packing time. When that was finished everyone left in one of two cars: the suburban or Mike's truck. I ended up in the suburban. Before we could really head out though we had to make a stop at Safeway. We got there and I went out and helped (not really actually but I can say I did) remind Jonathan of what food he needs to get (Reed didn't do anything with the helping part ;-D). So after all of this was done the time had FINALLY come to head out to the cabins. I thought the drive would be semi-nice but Reed, David and JC made sure that won't happen. They know why : D. We finally arrived and packed all of our gear into the cabin we were staying at. Now the time had really come. I keep telling all of you the time had come but this time I mean it. Hunting time was here. Since our group as a whole was too large to be together, we each headed off into our own groups. I ended up with JP, Damien, and Reed. I think. The spot we had chosen was the hot spot of last year. This year it wasn't so hot. We stayed and waited for a long time we met up with another group. Everyone left with that group except for me. I stayed and waited, hoping for some dumb chipmunk, or chippie, to come out. That long period of time was of no luck to me. So finally after giving up I caught up to the group that left me awhile ago. They were going to the cabins so I followed. After a little snack which consisted mainly of Cool Ranch Doritos I headed out with the 20 guage. I was with the same group this time with the exception of JP. This time we headed out the opposite way. We went for awhile until we were pretty deep into the woods. As we went deeper and deeper the action contained was more and more. The chipmunks were everywhere. The hard thing about the chipmunks was that they were really fast and small and they had bushes to hide in everywhere. That did not stop Reed, Damien and I though for we flushed them out of there bushes, sometimes catching the one that came out and sometimes not. If Reed and Damien missed with the rifles I ended the chipmunks' run with the 20. I should of had more but I only ended up with two chipmunks. I also had to conserve my ammo for I had been blasting a bit too much in the beginning of our trip. This took us about half of the day, the wandering and shooting. And after many hours we thought it best to head back to the cabins. When we came we saw a glorious and somewhat gruesome sight. Three Blue Jays and many chipmunks were laying dead in front of our cabin, giving a warning to those of there kind that were still alive. After everyone came back to the cabins we started shooting at random things near the cabin, mainly with the greatly apprized Mosin Nagant. After that was all done and the fire was started (By Damien and I) we cooked up some hot dogs. We ate and talked for awhile when finally Mark, the one who should of been here a long time ago, came with my dad (I don't blame you for anything though Mark). My dad saw that everything was alright and under control so he left when dinner was over. After dinner we all sat around the fire and told freaky stories. We also tried the question game which didn't work. Everyone talked around the fire for awhile before some left and some stayed. Tait, Leif, Damien, Royce, JP, and I stayed by the fire and started singing songs ranging from Disney themes to Beverly Hills. The night still seemed young to us but it was time to go to bed, for we had to get up really early to start hunting again. As I was getting ready I heard a few goodnight shots from the Mosin Nagant that rang out through the beautiful night sky. Somehow we all got to bed at a decent time, talked for a little bit, and fell asleep. The end of the first day had come.
The end..... for now. If there were any mistakes in the story just say so hunters because my memory isn't always the best.
